What is Structural Integration?

Structural Integration (SI) is a scientifically validated body therapy that focuses not on the muscles but on many layers of fascia, viewing the fascia as a system. Structural Integration is also great for chronic postural holding patterns that lead to pain and dysfunction. Most people come to Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) when nothing else has worked for them.

What it is: This method of soft tissue manipulation and movement is designed to ease the body, release fascial adhesions, and restore spatial perception. Based on the work of Ida P. Rolf, Structural Integration reveals the connection between our human structure and the force of gravity. Daily life, injuries, stress, and poor movement patterns can weigh heavy on ones physical structure. The compounding effect will shorten and tighten the bodies myofascial system over time.

What it isn’t: SI is NOT another form of deep tissue massage, a way to stretch fascia or just another massage technique.

Diana hopes that each and every one of her clients from in and around the Knoxville, Tennessee area reach their full physical potential and are able to overcome limitations that are keeping them from participating in activities and sports they enjoy.

Anatomy Trains author Tom Myers discusses what to expect from the Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) 12-Series of bodywork. To learn more, visit ht...

WHAT IS A 12-SERIES?

Structural Integration work is a new way of exploring your body’s structure and gives you a view of its interdependent relationship among its parts.

The intention of an ATSI Session 12-Series is to initiate change for the better in your postural balance, movement, energy, breath, and your overall body awareness. The 12-Series is a journey that will illuminate possible trouble areas which may have been previously overlooked or discounted. We (Client & Therapist) will work through the sessions together to bring freedom, connection, and ease into those spaces long forgotten.
